One Club is a unique platform for artists’ writing, one that allows guests to see and hear the literary side of an artist's work. Many artists write fiction and poetry and are highly productive in this area, however there is little recognition or appreciation of this side of their creativity. 

The Piper Gallery, in association with Akerman Daly, hosts a series of one-off evenings championing artists’ writing; each event involving one artist, one story and one limited edition print. 

One Club’s debut event was held on Monday 29th April 2013 – artist Edward Allington's short story, The Drowned Boys, was read specially by the artist Patrick Coyle. The reading was followed by an open discussion with Edward and audience Q & A.
